	E. Calleja & Sons Ltd. was founded in 1925 by the late Emmanuel Calleja and has since become a leading importer and distributor of electrical and plumbing supplies on the Maltese Islands. With the firm objective of achieving excellent customer service levels, Emmanuel Calleja established the company’s first retail outlet at 7, Fleur de Lys Road, B’Kara. Retail function provides the opportunity for the more discerningcustomers to source their specific requirements. In subsequent years, the founder’s sons, Charles, Joseph and Anthony, joined the company, introducing new ideas and enhancing its growth momentum. In line with the company’s customer satisfaction priority, they have extended the
Operational focus into new areas, particularly in the wholesale and tradesmen sectors, while continuing to expand the retail function. Ongoing sophistication in customer requirements eventually led to the setting up of the engineering and technical departments within the company. This has enabled the introduction of services with a higher value contribution, such as technical consultancy, supplying large projects and turnkey projects. This growth necessitated an increase in sales points and warehousing, initially to Msida Street, B’Kara and more recently to larger, custom-designed premises at 31, Bishop Labini Street, B’Kara. The company’s premises currently comprise a four-storey establishment with approximately 5,000 square meters of floor area, incorporating two sales storey's, a showroom, multi-level storage facilities and an administration area. The team has also increased to facilitate and enhance operations and is today composed of 50 trained employees in various jobs required, but mainly on sales and logistics. Continuous training of all employees is of utmost priority as this directly reflects back on the service provided to our customers. In fact, most of our sales force today are licensed electricians and confident to advice customer on their needs
	In more recent years, the company has also set up a new three-storey retail outlet at 58, Naxxar Road, B’Kara in order to better address the needs of a large and more diversified customer range. This outlet has enabled the company to be able to serve the customer for almost 12 hours a day. This retail outlet specialises in a vast range of decorative interior lighting, which can satisfy the widest variety of tastes and also an impressive range of small domestic appliances of brands which need absolutely no introduction. Today, E. Calleja & Sons Ltd., is a recognised major supplier to the local industry with over 13,000 products and a high-profile client base. This proves our continuous belief in our first and foremost sense of responsibility, which is to offer the highest professional customer service and the widest possible choice of quality products at value for money.
